Yellow Collection: A Surprise Baby Shower

"Aha! That's why you were all wearing yellow shirt!" And that's my initial reaction when I got into my consciousness. We were supposed to have our weekly Bible Study in our church center, but instead, our CGPMI Abu Dhabi family had given us a surprise baby shower.

And the show begun...
Our other BSmates fetched us in our building where we live, which they don't normally do ("). When I got from the elevator, Alvin, Regie and Momi Jo were wearing yellow shirt/tops. I didn't know yet what was going on and didn't think much of the "yellow" thing; it must have been a coincidence. When we entered the room, the place was dark and quiet, when suddenly, the light was turned on and saw all our friends' smiles and laughs and heard their happy greetings. Someone's taking a video, others were taking photos. And on the screen, a greeting with baby yellow bees was flashing on and off. I really didn't know at first, and when I came to my senses, I felt amazement and in cloud 9 because of the efforts they put on to make this surprise baby shower a real surprise.

After all the greetings, and as we usually do, we started the fellowship with a prayer led by Ate Darling. Shortly, we went to the dining table to get the foods served. Thank you to all BS groups who shared food for the fellowship. One group brought pancit, others shared spaghetti, baked mini-cupcakes, lumpia, grilled chicken, drinks, etc. As the dinner was about to end, the Game Master, Oha started the guessing game; it's a boys vs. girls, whoever guesses first and garners more points of the baby names of certain animals win. As usual, the GIRLS WON! Hahahaha.. After the game, they have written each on a piece of art paper the name they wanted for a boy or girl with heartfelt and funny messages. They either combined our names, or read our names backward. Some gave Bible names such as Ezra, Elisha, Joshua, Ruth. :)

After the games, our friends who are already parents gave their advices and well wishes. And of course, just like a wedding celebration, we had unwrapping of gifts for our baby (",)..

Lastly, our thank you messages for everyone. Direk did a funny message, acted like PNoy but sounded like Manny Pacquiao. "Thanks God". Everyone was laughing with him. But when it came to my turn, everyone became serious. Heheh.

Didn't expect to have you prepared a baby shower for us. Thanks to all BS groups who shared foods, decorated the venues, gave gifts, captured the photos/videos, and other efforts you shared.
