Sweet 32

Recently, I celebrated my 32nd birthday. My great day passed by with such a feeling of contentment, great joy, peace and love.

I started my regular morning devotion with a verse. It says in Hebrews 11:6,
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

With my 32 years of life existence, I can confidently say that my life is a journey of faith. I have come to know the Lord in a personal level when I was 14 years old. Turning 18 years (this year), is quite long, but still, I am a work in progress. Faith pleases the Lord. Faith has something to do with our relationship with the Lord. Faith does not emilinate problems but will help us make it through and trust God through the eyes of faith.

I ended my devotion with this song, "PANGINOON, KAY BUTI MO." He is!

32 years, halfway through the normal retirement, I want to write this blog with so much thanksgiving in my heart. Let me share with you my 5 great things to be thankful for, and I owe them to God.

1. Thankful for my current job. Before Seth came, I prayed that God will give me a new job wherein I can give more time to Seth when he comes out. Three months after I gave birth to him, God gave me this job, unknowlingly that this will give me greater value and experience, and that I will have more time with my angel. I can even work from home if need be.

2. Thankful for the talents that God has bestowed upon me, and my church ministry. Part of my job is graphic design: making posters, invitations, backdrop, etc. I learned the basic know-how from my talented husband. Because of my job, I am able to enhance my artistry design. I even use this talent in our church for our events and weekly services.

My love for music, although, music does not run in the family, I was inclined to love it. I started learning the guitar when I was 14, learning the piano when I was 23. I may not be as good as those professional and great musicians, but with these little talents, I am able to offer them to God.

3. Thankful for the love of books and other reading materials. I am guilty of being a bookworm. I love books. It runs through my veins. Even when I was a little kid, I would stay up late just to finish my reading, even when there was a power shortage at home. Growing up, and being a working student in College, I always find time to read. Up to now, that I have a family of my own, my love for books never ceases. Just the start of this year, I just finished reading two books about personal finance and godly relationship. I am currently reading the book written by Vic and Avelynn Garcia, "Mag-asawa's Di Biro.". I actually have a mini-library in our house in Zambales.

I would like to pass on this love to Seth and the next kids to come. :D Observing Seth at this age, I know he will love reading as well.

4. Thankful for my family, friends, churchmates, colleagues and all the people whom God allowed to come so I can be a blessing to them, and vice versa.
For the second time around, my churchmates and husband, gave me a surprised birthday bash. Kaya pala! I really felt the love! They prepared food, decorated the place, sung me a birthday song with an ube cake! Thankful to have them as my friends/churchmates. Cheers to more years of togetherness!

My mother never ceases to celebrate our birthday back home. She makes sure she has pancit, bibingka and other delicacies to celebrate with us even we are two poles apart. I thank my nanay, tatay and the rest of the family who always remember us in our special day.

Messages were flooded in my wall with all the birthday greetings and well wishes with even throwback photos from friends, FB friends, colleagues and others, although, I intentionally did not put my birthday in FB, they still managed to greet me. I thank you!

My Bible study group. God has entrusted me this group to nurture and grow with. Started in 2011, it still continues to grow by the grace of God.

5. Lastly, thankful for my husband, Neil, and son, Seth Nathaniel - my very own family. My talented and smart husband is very quiet but he is surely a loving person. In the morning of my birthday, I was half-awake when he suddenly kissed me. So sweet of him. Well, that's once in a blue moon. Hahaha.. Three years and counting, God has blessed our marriage, spiritually, emotionally and financially. We may have disagreements, but we agree to disagree all the time. Our Seth is growing so fast and smart. At 17 months, he knows his aplhabet, not perfectly but, he knows his letters. I thank God for entrusting me these two wonderful creations in my life.

Sweet 32! Yes, I have lived my life contentedly, joyful and peacefully. I know that trials and problem will come, but I surely, I will stand victoriously because of Jesus.

Sweet 32! Yes, still, a work in progress. I am still in the Potter's hand. I will continue to be thankful to God.

Sweet 32! will be sweet 33. Next post, next year!
